Important Notice: This article describes the four phases of the creator journey. Completing all phases does not guarantee campaign success or funding. Each phase has its own requirements, and progression depends on your actions and decisions.
What this article explains
This article explains the complete creator journey from idea to payout. It covers all four phases (A, B, C, D) and what happens in each stage.
When this applies
This applies to you if:
- You are new to the platform and want to understand the full process
- You want to know what to expect before starting
- You are planning your creator journey timeline
- You want to understand how the phases connect
How it works
Overview of the four phases
| Phase | Name | What You Do |
|---|---|---|
| A | Idea Refinement | Structure your vague idea into a clear concept |
| B | Concept Validation | Test interest with your real audience |
| C | Campaign Creation | Launch campaign and collect pledges |
| D | Delivery & Payout | Deliver content and receive payment |
Phase A: Idea Refinement
Purpose: Turn your vague idea into a structured, market-ready concept.
What happens:
- You answer 7 targeted questions about your content idea
- The AI Assistant (or Self-Guided Framework) guides you through
- The system generates a Concept Summary with:
- Clear title and positioning
- Target audience definition
- Pain point and desired outcome
- Content format and scope
- Pricing hypothesis
- Curriculum outline
Output: A structured concept ready for validation
Key decision: Confirm your Concept Summary to proceed to Phase B
Phase B: Concept Validation
Purpose: Test if your audience actually wants what you plan to create.
What happens:
- Select which platforms your audience uses (YouTube, Instagram, Email, etc.)
- Choose validation tactics (landing page, polls, surveys)
- Share with your audience and collect responses
- Track results on your Validation Dashboard
- Receive a Traffic Light score (🟢🟡🔴)
Validation tactics available:
| Tactic | Effort | What It Measures |
|---|---|---|
| Waitlist Landing Page | Low | Email signups (subject to Privacy Policy) |
| YouTube Community Poll | Very Low | Vote interest |
| Instagram Stories Poll | Very Low | Vote interest |
| Video Teaser + Link | Medium | Click-through interest |
| Email Survey | Low | Survey responses |
Traffic Light results:
| Light | Interest Rate | Historical Success Rate |
|---|---|---|
| 🟢 Green | 20%+ | 68% reached funding goal |
| 🟡 Yellow | 10-19% | 45% reached funding goal |
| 🔴 Red | Below 10% | 18% reached funding goal |
Output: Validation data and Traffic Light guidance
Key decision: Proceed to Phase C, run more tactics, or refine your concept
Phase C: Campaign Creation & Management
Purpose: Launch your campaign and collect pledges from backers.
What happens:
- Campaign builder pre-fills from your Phase A and B data
- Customize your campaign page (media, description, FAQ)
- Set your funding goal (calculator provides recommendations)
- Choose campaign duration (14, 21, or 30 days)
- Publish and promote to your audience
- Monitor progress and engage with backers
- Answer questions in the Q&A section
Campaign elements:
| Element | Source | Editable? |
|---|---|---|
| Title & Description | Phase A | Yes |
| Pricing Tiers | Phase A | Quantities only |
| Funding Goal | Calculated from Phase B | Yes |
| FAQ | Phase B questions | Yes |
| Delivery Timeline | Phase A | No (locked) |
Campaign outcomes:
| Outcome | Condition | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| Success | Pledges ≥ Funding Goal | Proceed to Phase D |
| Failed | Pledges < Funding Goal | All pledges refunded to backers |
Output: Funded campaign (if successful) or refunded pledges (if failed)
Key decision: Publish your campaign when ready
Phase D: Delivery, Verification & Payout
Purpose: Deliver your content to backers and receive your payment.
What happens:
- Receive first 30% of funds after campaign succeeds
- Create and deliver your content to backers
- Submit delivery proof on the platform
- Backers verify they received the content
- Funds are released from escrow based on verification
Escrow payout schedule:
| Stage | Amount | When Released |
|---|---|---|
| Initial | 30% | After campaign succeeds |
| Main | 60% | After 80%+ backer verification |
| Final | 10% | After dispute window closes (30 days) |
Verification requirements:
- At least 80% of sampled backers must confirm receipt
- If below 80%, manual review may be required
- Disputes can be filed during the 30-day dispute window
Output: Full payment (minus platform fee) after successful delivery
How the phases connect
Phase A (Idea)
↓ Concept Summary
Phase B (Validation)
↓ Traffic Light + Validation Data
Phase C (Campaign)
↓ Successful Funding
Phase D (Delivery)
↓ Verified Delivery
Full Payout
Data flows between phases:
- Phase A → Phase B: Concept used for validation messaging
- Phase B → Phase C: Interest data pre-populates campaign + FAQ
- Phase C → Phase D: Pledges become delivery commitments
- Phase D → Payout: Verification triggers fund release
Important rules to know ⚠️
- You can stop at any phase. There is no obligation to continue
- Campaign success (Phase C) does not equal getting paid. You must deliver (Phase D)
- The Traffic Light is guidance, not a guarantee. You decide whether to launch
- Delivery timeline is locked from Phase A. Plan realistically
- All-or-nothing funding: partial funding = all pledges refunded
