Important Notice: This article explains the platform's fund release process. All timelines are estimates and may vary based on verification results, dispute status, payment processor requirements, and your account status. The platform reserves the right to modify terms for future campaigns.
What this article explains
This article explains how funds are released to you after your campaign reaches its funding goal. It covers the three-stage escrow system, the release schedule, and the conditions you must meet to receive each portion of funds.
When this applies
This applies to you if:
- Your campaign has successfully reached its funding goal.
- You want to understand when and how you will receive funds.
How it works
Campaign succeeds and funds enter escrow
When your campaign reaches its funding goal:
- All pledged funds are transferred to a secure escrow account.
- Escrow is managed by a third-party payment processor.
- Funds do not go to your personal account until release conditions are met.
Platform fee is deducted
- A platform fee is deducted from the total pledged amount.
- Your fee rate depends on your account tier. See your Account Settings or our Pricing Page for your current rate.
- This deduction occurs before the 30/60/10 split is calculated.
Example calculation:
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Total pledges | $10,000 |
| Platform fee | -[Fee based on your tier] |
| Amount in escrow | [Remaining after fee] |
Stage 1 — 30% Released
- 30% of escrowed funds becomes available for withdrawal when your campaign succeeds, subject to compliance verification.
- Funds are typically available within 24 hours, but timing may vary based on your payment account status and location.
- You will receive a notification: "30% working capital available."
- Note: Funds are not automatically transferred to your bank account. You must initiate a withdrawal from your dashboard to receive the funds.
Using the example above:
- Stage 1 release: 30% of amount in escrow
- Remaining in escrow: 70% of amount in escrow
Stage 2 — 60% Verification Release
This release is labeled "60% - Verification Release" in your dashboard.
To receive the 60% release, you must:
- Submit delivery proof on or before your chosen delivery date (using the Delivery Submission Form).
- Wait for backer verification (20-day verification period).
- Achieve ≥80% confirmation rate from sampled backers.
Verification timeline:
| Event | Timing |
|---|---|
| You submit delivery proof | By your chosen delivery date |
| Verification emails sent | Within 24 hours of your submission |
| First reminder | Day 3 of verification period |
| Second reminder | Day 6 of verification period |
| Final reminder | Day 7 of verification period |
| Verification period ends | 20 days after your submission |
| 60% release decision | After verification period ends |
Verification status indicators:
During the verification period, your dashboard shows a status indicator:
| Status | Verification Rate | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Passing | ≥80% confirmed | On track for 60% release |
| At Risk | 70-79% confirmed | May need to send reminders to pending backers |
| Needs Attention | <70% confirmed | Manual review will be required |
Release conditions:
| Condition | Result |
|---|---|
| ≥80% of sampled backers confirm | 60% released after verification period ends. Timing may vary based on payment processor requirements. |
| <80% of sampled backers confirm | Manual review required (7-9 days). You may be contacted to resolve issues. |
Using the example above:
- Stage 2 release (if verified): 60% of amount in escrow
- Remaining in escrow: 10% of amount in escrow
Stage 3 — 10% Final Release (After Dispute Window)
This release is labeled "10% - Dispute Window" in your dashboard.
The final 10% is released after the dispute window closes:
- The dispute window lasts 30 days after the 60% release.
- If no valid disputes remain when the dispute window closes, 10% is released.
- Funds are typically deposited to your bank account within 3-5 business days after release.
- If disputes are filed, funds are held until all disputes are resolved.
Using the example above:
- Stage 3 release (if no disputes): Final 10% of amount in escrow
- Total received: 100% of amount in escrow (after platform fee)
Campaign completion:
- After the final 10% is released, your campaign is marked as complete.
- You can view your campaign analytics and total earnings breakdown on your dashboard.
